The 2010 Pajama Jam Expected to Raise 3,000 Donations for Local Foster Children

Stuart, FL, March 23, 2010- The Junior League of Martin County (JLMC), the organizers of the Pajama Jam, is very excited about the opportunity to have such an incredible impact on local children in need.

“What an incredible way to help these kids,” said Kathy Creswell, President of the JLMC. “We are so excited to be able to put this together for our community.”

The vision for the event is an adult pajama party. Guests are encouraged to don their favorite (PG rated) pajamas and join the JLMC at Wahoo’s on the Waterfront on Friday, March 26th at 8:00pm. Cover charge will be a donated item (package of socks, package of underwear, set of pajamas and/or a bra for children aged 2-18) or $10 in cash. Wahoo’s on the Waterfront is donating the first round for all attendees. All cash proceeds will go towards the purchase of items- JLMC is not retaining any of the funding.

“Through the kindness of our sponsors, Donna DeMarchi and Behavior Basics, Inc, as well as Wahoo’s on the Waterfront and of course our generous membership we have been able to allocate all of our donations for this event directly to benefit children in need,” said Andi Poli, JLMC’s Community Vice President. “We’re looking forward to an incredible event!”

And there’s more. Attendees who wear their pajamas to the event are eligible to win prizes including gift certificates to local shops.

“I’ve got my eye on the Pajama Contest. I’m definitely going to win,” said Monica Eriksen, a member of the JLMC Community Involvement Committee.

“We’re looking forward to generating a lot of support for these kids through a fun and exciting event,” said Jenny Askeland, President Elect of the JLMC. “Community service is the central focus of our organization, and we can have a lot of fun helping each other!”
